After viewing my screen as a photograph, I feel that a written piece loses its personal flair. In digital spaces, composing tasks have a uniform layout. The uniform layout that pieces gain in a digital space is a layout that is recognized as normal in the modern world. The shape that a composing task takes when it is viewed in a digital space puts all of the emphasis on the actual contents of the piece. It is strange to think that at one time, it was unheard of to view a composition task in a digital space.
The uniform shape that a composing task takes when it is viewed in a digital space puts all of the emphasis on the actual contents of the piece. For example, one is not distracted by the spacing between words or legability of the handwriting. This can be considered a good thing to people with poor penmanship. Also, digital composition drastically reduces the worlds use of pens and paper.
The process of digital composition is simple. A computer keyboard is simply a tool that one can use to express his or her ideas. The action of typing a piece is as basic as speaking words. While composing a digital piece, ones ideas seem to flow from the tips of his or her fingers. When digital composition piece is viewed as a picture, it gives off a sense of finalization. All in all, I feel that digital composition is a technology that will eventually be replaced in the future. In the mean time, digital is the way to go.
